Some of our memories will be of moments when we have done or said things that we regret. This prayer seeks to acknowledge this reality and helps us reach out for the love and forgiveness that God offers.

Sometimes my memories haunt me,
As I struggle to forget what should never have happened;
Or am gripped by the guilt
Of things I could not help,
Or wish I had never done.

Draw me more deeply,
Into your extravagant grace and mercy
Help me to accept that I am forgiven.
Let the love You have for me,
Become greater in my eyes,
Than the disappointments I have in myself.
